Mrs. Jennie N. Reynolds, an incredible lady whose vision far exceeded her time, organized the Louisiana Art and Folk Festival 52 years ago. United with help from other noteworthy people of this community, Mrs. Reynolds, produced what is said to be the first festival in Louisiana. The current Louisiana Art & Folk Festival Board is committed to resurrecting Mrs. Reynolds' vision and adapting it with today's ideas and technology, leaving a legacy for our future generation to learn, engage in and enjoy the Arts.
Exposure to the arts will help navigate the future and career paths of many more children.
Our MISSION: to operate exclusively for the purpose of promoting interest, development and performance of the arts and folkways of Louisiana, America, and the World. To achieve this mission our plan is to hold exhibitions, performances, and festivals in art and folkways of all forms; to offer prizes, inducements and other grants in competition and for the assistance to persons in furthering the stimulation, development and creation of works of art, folkways and other cultural objectives by the people of Louisiana.
Our OBJECTIVES: to identify students who possess or demonstrate talent and nurture them to their fullest potential by providing instruments, art programs, and opportunities no longer afforded by the Caldwell Parish School System.
